Our Fit Philosophy revolves around the Flexibility and Core Strength techniques
taught in many Yoga & Pilates classes. We incorporate
Hatha Iyengar Yoga teachings to understand body positioning & overall
symmetry between body and bike.
We utilize Dart Fish Motion Capture Software to produce Dynamic Movement Solutions. You will see before & after video helping you visualize the modern proper fit techniques used by cycling professionals & enthusiast alike.
What is the Iyengar Method?
Iyengar's method, a form of hatha yoga, is based on giving primacy to the
physical alignment of the body in the poses. In the Iyengar school, it is
taught that there is a correct way to do each pose, and that every student will
one day be able to attain perfect poses through consistent practice. Once this
balance is created in the body, it will be reflected in the mind. One of
Iyengar's major innovations is in the use of props. Today it is quite common to see blankets,
blocks, straps, pillows, chairs, and bolsters being used in yoga studios. The
use of these props is comparatively new in the history of yoga and comes
directly from Iyengar. The purpose of the props is to assist the student in
attaining ideal alignment, even if the body is not yet open enough.
You will be FIT by the Trek Store Owner, Bret Gave, who has been trained over the
years by Michael Sylvester,
a Professional Bicycle Fitter with over
10,000 personal Fits to his credit.
We currently offer 2 FIT sessions: Each Fit includes 60-90 minutes of adjustments and a
suggested 30-45 minute return visit to discuss how the changes have effected
your riding style and comfort, and re-positioning if necessary. Be prepared to ride your bicycle for up to 30 minutes.
Pro Fit: $100.00 (up to 60 minutes)
